"One day Pina asked..."

Chantal Akerman is offered a journey into the world of Pina Bausch. In long still shots, she intertwines backstage footage of actor-dancers with excerpts from rehearsals during their five-week tour of Wuppertal, Venice, Milan, and Avignon. Akerman ends the film with a hesitant interview with Pina Bausch.
