LIGHT is a short dance movie inspired by the quarantine of the artist Maya Gomez in COVID-19. A roller coaster of feelings, a mixture of boredom, uncertainty, anxiety, hope, patience — but also joy, gratefulness, fun, and love.
"Brought back in the simplest way of living,
facing ourselves all alone.
Submerged in the unknown.
Everything is in Pause, thanks God the clock still runs.
The idea of time switched.
We have time,
lots of it.
The idea of eternity is scary."

Challenging times for everyone. Every single person has a story to tell about this global lockdown; some more unfortunate than others. I hope for light at the end of the tunnel for everybody as we search for what makes us feel alive.
Grateful to be where I am.
Maya Gomez was born in Switzerland and has Philippines origines. She achieved her studies at the dance conservatory in Barcelona, Institut del Teatre. In that same city, she started her professional career in 2010 working with the young dance company IT Dansa.
