As an itinerant experimental filmmaker with a video art background, rather than aiming to only present particular subject matter or just visualize geographical set up, I work towards locating and uniting the common voice between my vision and the subject matters that attract my attention.
To me, only by immersing myself in estranging environments can I become more sensitive in unfolding my everyday life experience and encounters. That said, I often set myself up in unconventional situations; a way to remind myself to be sensitive to my surroundings.
Jolene Mok was born and raised in British Hong Kong. An experimental artist, she uses video art and experimental film as her major creative platforms.
